"I really liked the creative images that our photojournalist photographer took at our wedding, but we didn't get any formal portraits of our family...some of those family members have passed away since then, and now we have nothing..." My realtor told me this of his wedding photographer, he said that he wished he and his wife would have considered this when choosing their wedding photographer.

The new trend towards photojournalism is very exciting, as I really enjoy capturing emotion in a photograph. When people look back at their wedding photographs, they’d like to remember what they felt at the time, not just what they looked like. The actual experience the photographer is documenting is as equally important. The benefit I can bring to your special event is that I am trained and experienced in many styles of photography...I am always sure to capture both, the emotional moments, and wonderful formal family portraits as well. I photograph a variety of striking, beautifully posed images, and candid emotional moments...sometimes the posed turn into those emotional moments! I will advise based on my experience, but I will also listen to your needs very carefully.
There is a backup on all equipment, with a variety of lenses, and all high quality digital 14 megapixel image capture. Whether it's a modern cross-processing effect that you like, a soft warm sepia tone, borders, retouch, composites, or "thank you" text, I will add this to any image at no charge.
My studio photography demonstrates my knowledge in composition and lighting. I have been photographing both in the studio, and on location for over 20 years.
It all started at age 17 when I won the Minnesota "Best 100 art students" through an advanced placement art class through Macalister college. After attending school for photography, and studying with german photographer Heinz Richter, and French photographer Gila, I worked with many other Twin Cities wedding photographers including Steve Ellis of Saint Paul. I continued to photograph weddings for friends and family...the word spread about my talent. I then went on continuing my education through the Professional Photographer's Association, and training photographers for two large corporations, many of which became well accomplished photographers on their own.
I always knew that someday I would leave the corporate world and focus on my own style of portrait photography. With the love and support of my amazing husband, my dreams have become a reality. I love my vocation, photography is my passion. It is always an honor and pleasure to witness the marriage of two people. After all these years, I still cry at every wedding...my camera clicking away the whole time.
We have a limited number of weddings that we are available to photograph each year-we believe in quality, not quantity. We have clients all over the country and are available to travel. Most of my clients have found me through word of mouth, and know about my personality, professionalism & style. For anyone who does not, I am happy to provide you with references.
Constant professional growth and the love of the art of photography drive my passion for my business. Many methods are used in order to gain knowledge and new ideas to ensure a quality unique experience for every client. Get in touch with us soon to make sure your date is still available.
